Taste-tested by an agent. A fresh Claude Sonnet 5.5 agent with no CodePlate context set this template up for "Second Loaf", a bakery owner giving a 10-minute talk on how her shop cut food waste. After a short interview it agreed an outline, put the deck in her green and mustard, built the talk with speaker notes and a chart from her waste log, added a before-and-after slide and a customer quote, switched the talk to 4:3 with a PDF of her notes for the organisers, and made a 5-slide 16:9 version for a radio station's website: 5 of 5 requests passed, with checks green after each one (2026-10-14). The pieces it had to work out itself (a handout PDF with the notes, a darker mustard for text, a badge so the logo shows on green, removing the samples, units on charts) are built in since 1.1.0, with an opt-in editable PowerPoint.

Serving suggestion

  1. Unzip it where your project will live.
  2. Install Node.js 22 or newer. You also need Chrome, Edge or Chromium (Windows has Edge already); the checks find it themselves, or run npx playwright install chromium. Then npm ci once. No account, no API keys.
  3. Open the folder with your agent and say something like:

This is a slide deck template from CodePlate. Read AGENTS.md, then let's make a 10-minute talk for my local business meetup about how our bakery cut food waste. Here are my notes and our logo.

Branded slide decks written in plain Markdown, built so your AI agent can make your talks: pitches, lessons, conference talks, sales decks, reports.

Use it with your agent

  1. Unzip this folder where you want your decks to live.
  2. Install Node.js 22 or newer. You need Chrome, Edge or Chromium too (Windows has Edge already).
  3. Open the folder with your agent (Claude Code or similar) and say something like:

This is a slide deck template from CodePlate. Read AGENTS.md, then let's make a 10-minute talk for my local business meetup about how our bakery cut food waste. Here are my notes and our logo.

The agent will ask a few questions, agree an outline with you, record your decisions in docs/project.md, and build the deck slide by slide, checking and looking at every slide as it goes.

Run it yourself

npm ci # once
npm run check # everything; ends with CODEPLATE CHECKS: PASS
npm run preview # slide images and a contact sheet in shots/
npm run build # PDF, PPTX, presenter HTML and handout PDF in out/
npm run handout # just the handout: each slide with its speaker notes
npm run contrast # do the theme's colours pass? (and a shade that does)
npm run remove-sample # what removing the sample decks would delete (-- --yes to do it)
npm run present # present from a browser at http://localhost:8080
