Questions for the kitchen
What's in a template?
A complete, working project (a game, an app or a document generator, not a skeleton), an agent brief in AGENTS.md, recipes for the changes people actually ask for, and one headless command that checks the rules, the screens and the assets. Code and assets are original, written from scratch.
Is it free?
Some of it. The free templates are on the house, no account needed. Paid plans start at $3.99 a month: Creator ($3.99): documents, slide decks, print-and-play and email templates; Plus ($7.99): everything in Creator, plus games, creative templates and bots; Max ($12.99): every template, including the apps. Every update is included while you're subscribed. Every browser demo is free to play.
Can I sell what I make?
Yes. Games and apps built from a template are yours to ship and sell. Free templates ask for a "Built with CodePlate" credit, unless you download them while on a CodePlate plan; paid templates never need one. You can't resell a template itself. Read the licenses.
Which agents does it work with?
Templates are built and tested with Claude Code. Any coding agent that reads AGENTS.md (or CLAUDE.md) and can run commands will work.
Do I need to know how to code?
No, though it helps. Templates are designed for agent-driven and agent-assisted work. You'll need to install the engine or tools (for example Godot), run your agent, and try what it builds.
Can my agent order for me?
Yes. /llms.txt and /catalog.json list every template. Free ones have a stable download URL, so you can just say "get CodePlate's site-starter". For a Pro template, sign in on its page and press "Copy link for your agent", then paste the link to your agent.
What are the "Coming soon" cards?
Templates we're building right now. They join the menu once they pass their checks and an agent's taste test.
